Who we are

North Central London Training Hub was created in 2020 when Health Education England (HEE) brought together training hubs within the locality, with the aim of ensuring “the primary care workforce of today and tomorrow are trained in the right numbers, have the necessary skills, NHS values and behaviours.” 

HEE describes Training Hubs as your ‘go to’ place for any information about primary care workforce, enhance education and development. We work to address local needs by working closely with our local Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Integrated Care System (ICS) colleagues to bring together NHS organisations, community providers and local authorities. 

Which boroughs do we cover?

North Central London Training Hub covers the following boroughs:

Each area has their own Training Hub, and we work closely with Programme Managers from each Borough. Within this area there are over 197 GP surgeries and 32 Primary Care Networks.  

We support all staff working within primary care, including practice managers, GPs, administrative staff, allied health professionals, and general practice nurses, as well as supporting the development of new roles such as social prescribers and clinical pharmacists. We also work closely with colleagues from the local optical committees, Dental Committees and Pharmaceutical committees.

The Team 

Our team is made up of a Leadership Team, Programme Managers representing Training Hubs in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington; Clinical Leads; Director of Primary Care Nursing, Nursing Leads; a Nursing Education Team who work predominantly within Adult Social Care; Project Officers and a Communication Lead.  Together, we design and implement a range of programmes, and support staff through training and development as well as collaborating with the wider primary care teams.
