Access and Digital
Access and Digital, although distinct workstreams within the NCL General Practice Change Management Support Programme, are inherently interconnected. Developments or adjustments in one area often create both opportunities and challenges in the other, making it essential to consider them together when improving patient pathways and practice operations.
With the rollout of Modern General Practice Access (MGPA) and Digital First approaches, practices are encouraged to offer digitally enabled patients a range of self service and online options, while ensuring those who are digitally excluded can continue to use traditional methods of contact. This balanced model supports equitable access for all patients and helps practices manage demand more effectively.
In this section, you will find a collection of practical resources to support implementation across NCL - from guidance on total triage, to tools for demand and capacity analysis, to practical advice for getting the most from your existing digital systems and platforms.
