Learning & Development
Upcoming Sessions
NCL Training Hub’s Education Faculty will be running an Action Learning Set workshop in the autumn. This workshop will be open to all practices and teams across NCL primary care and will provide teams with resources and learning to help them develop Action Learning Sets on topics relevant to neighbourhood working for primary care.
To keep up to date on upcoming workshops from the Education Faculty and Quality team, join our monthly Educator Bulletin.
Recorded Learning
The workshop will be delivered in a train-the-trainer style, giving practices access to learning materials and resources so they can share the session and redeliver the topic within their own teams. Resources consist of facilitation notes, learning outcomes and question prompts, as well as teaching slides.
A dedicate toolkit chapter will also be developed and will be accessible via the NCL Supervision Toolkit.
The workshop will be recorded and made available afterwards as part of NCL Training Hub’s Education Faculty workshop programme.

Topics
The workshop will focus on what Action Learning Sets are and how they can be used to support primary care multidisciplinary work structures, team planning and development.
As primary care teams are increasingly asked to work in integrated ways with the shift towards neighbourhoods, the case studies shared as part of the session will draw on the Training Hub’s recent Learning Needs Analysis for primary care teams (2026), alongside key themes relevant to neighbourhoods that primary care may be navigating, including:
Population Health Management
Proactive Care
Supervision models for neighbourhoods
Multi-disciplinary team working and the role of primary care within this
Neighbourhood culture and leadership for primary care
This aligns with the ALS programme and PLT development work.
