Audience: This 2 hour standalone webinar is aimed at healthcare professionals that are new to managing asthma and would like an introduction to the topic. This is usually followed by the 6 week module: The Clinical Assessment, Diagnosis and Management of Asthma for a more in depth course.
This webinar will give a basic overview of:
· Asthma in the UK and its impact
· The difference between a normal airway and an asthma airway
· The symptoms associated with asthma
· Diagnosis: how to take good history and what makes asthma more and less likely
· The tests to support the diagnosis
· Assessing and managing asthma: the treatment pathway
· The annual review including inhalers & inhaler technique
· The asthma guidelines
This is an interactive webinar hosted on MS Teams. It is preferable to have access to a microphone and webcam. Throughout the webinar you will be able to contribute and ask questions using the ‘chat feature’ and/or your microphone.
