Immunisation training offer 2024 (Camden, Haringey and Islington) - TRAINING CANCELLED

Immunisation training is being offered to Doctors, Pharmacists, Trained Nurses and non-clinical staff in Islington, Haringey, and Camden.

1. CORE TRAINING FOR Doctors and Trained Nurses ONLY

  • These courses are suitable for qualified nurses or health professionals, including pharmacists, who have not previously done equivalent two-day training

  • Prior to the training you must complete the e-learning for Health modules on Immunisation (e-lfh.org.uk- “Immunisation (IMM)”)

  • You will need to send in your certificates from the e-learning modules before you come for Day 2 training

  • The morning session will cover professional responsibilities/recordkeeping, Consent, Cold chain, and administration-Practical Injection techniques

  • The afternoon session will cover topical issues, important changes and talking with parents/patients

  • This training will not cover COVID-19 in any detail

  • Travel immunisations are not covered

2. HALF DAY UPDATE SESSION FOR Doctors, Pharmacists and Trained Nurses

  • This is suitable for those who have already done core training

  • The sessions will cover topical issues and any new information as well as reinforcement of some basics, such as storage of vaccines

  • The sessions will include information about ‘flu’

  • These updates will not cover COVID-19 in any detail
