Celebrating Freedom to Speak Up Week 2025
You are invited to join NCL Training Hub (TH) in celebrating the National Guardian's Office Freedom to Speak Up Week 2025, commencing on Monday 13 October 2025.
NCL TH will be launching the celebrations early, with an inspiring session taking place next week on Thursday 2 October 2025, with Jenni Fellows, Interim National Lead, Guardian Support and Policy, National Guardian’s Office.
Please click here to register for the session.
In addition to the session, we are excited to share that this year we are launching a brand-new FTSU celebration Week Podcast. Throughout the week, you will be able to hear stories, insights and conversations that highlight the importance of speaking up, listening up and following up. Please visit our NCL FTSU Week 2025 webpage to find out more.
Here is what Ian Porter, Director of Governance, NCL ICB had to say:
'October is National Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Month, which is always a great opportunity to promote the importance of speaking up.
It is vital to ensure staff feel safe and supported to speak up if they have concerns – and as part of a learning culture that recognises speaking up as an opportunity to drive organisational improvement.
As NHS organisations, our ultimate goal is to maximise health outcomes for our communities – and a key aspect of this is supporting our staff to prosper in a positive working environment.
In the event of needing to speak-up, staff should feel assured they will be supported by a trained speak up representative, who will provide a confidential safe-space to listen and support with care'
We encourage you to join us in the celebrations, share the activities on our NCL FTSU Week 2025 webpage and help us continue building a safe, open and supportive culture across NCL Primary Care.
