A Successful NHS Health and Social Care Careers Fair
NCL Training Hub held the 9th NHS Health and Social Care Careers fair at Middlesex University on the 6th March. We were delighted that almost 100 exhibitors from across health and social care came to chat to students from across North Central London about their experiences and what they love about their jobs. Exhibitors included a range of Allied health professionals from Royal Free Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital, Community nurses from Haringey and midwives from St Thomas’ hospital, mental health professionals from North London Foundation Trust as well as Play Specialists from UCLH, Public Health experts, a Paediatrician from North Middlesex Hospital and Care Coordinators and LAS Paramedics working for a PCN in Barnet. Our panel discussion included Training Hub pharmacy ambassador Amina Ali and Carry Matthews who talked about her experience as a practice manager. Other participants included Psychiatrist Philippa Cleary, Speech and Language Therapist Colin Lyons, Biomedical Scientist Sue Outram and Midwife Aqsa Rabbani.
Thanks to Middlesex University Education and Outreach team who helped get the word out to students across London and who moderated the panel discussion, as well as their student ambassadors who guided students to health professionals who might be able to help them with ideas for their future careers!
