Vacancy: Medical Education Fellowship – across NCL
The GP Federations of North Central London (NCL) and NCL Training Hub are delighted to announce a cohort* of Medical Education Fellowship posts across the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Islington.
*The job plans offered in each borough may differ depending on the local needs and provision
The Medical Education NCL SPIN/New to Practice Fellowship scheme incorporates a range of elements including:
1) A portfolio role for 1 year of 2 sessions per week working with UCL Medical School.
2) A monthly session of facilitated peer support for 1 year.
3) The portfolio role is contingent on a permanent salaried post in a local practice for 4-7 sessions per week. We are seeking expressions of interest from local practices and a list of those interested will be shared. GPs can also secure their own posts from practices not on the list so long as practices are aware of the timetabling requirements for the Fellowship such as being released to attend facilitated peer support sessions.
We are hoping to appoint 5 GP Fellows to teach medical students from UCL Medical School in their practice. The aim is for the fellows to teach on the Medicine in the Community course for a minimum of 30 full days a year and 4 additional UCL teaching/placement days (as required by the UCL GP curriculum). There will also be some curriculum development work with the medical school and/or training hub. For further information about the post please see the attached advert along with details of how to apply. The deadline for application is Friday 21st June with a post start date of September 2024 (date TBC).
