DOAC Webinars for primary care staff
The ICB has commissioned an anticoagulation and stroke prevention education package from Helicon Health for all primary care staff involved in caring for patients on oral coagulation. This includes both eLearning and a series of four webinars. The series of webinars will be held at intervals up until the summer. The webinars are suitable for all clinical staff caring for patients with Atrial Fibrillation or who may be at risk of stroke. All webinars will be delivered by Dr. Yassir Javaid: Clinical Subject Matter Expert (GP with a specialist interest in cardiology).
The final webinar in the stroke prevention and managing AF series will deviate slightly to include more elements of coronary heart disease. The session is 90 minutes and will cover the following:
Assessment and establishing a diagnosis
Modern secondary prevention – including latest hypertension and lipid guidelines
Demystifying antiplatelet treatment
Who needs revascularisation and PCI vs CABG
Anti-anginal Rx – all you need to know in primary care
ECGs in ischaemia
Case studies
