We are a team dedicated to supporting all CQC registered care providers across North Central London to become more digitally mature by offering access to new technologies that enhance the care you provide to residents and service users.
As the whole health system begins the major transformation towards a digitally enabled future, we are here to help!
The ASC Digital Transformation Fund allows providers in North Central London to access funding for 1 full year on a Digital Social Care Record (DSCR) system, including all implementation and training costs.
NB With the funding coming to an end, all CQC-registered providers have until 30th November to submit a funding application. Get in touch today to find out how to benefit from the funding.
DSCR is system that replaces paper records for recording care (also called an electronic care record/ management system). includes person centred care planning and needs assessment, easier ways to capture information, task planning, data access, data sharing and managing reports.
Having a DSCR allows providers to capture information more easily at the point of care, support staff to respond more quickly to residents’ needs and share important information quickly, safely and securely between care settings, thus minimise risks to staff and residents’ safety.
Through the ASC Digital Transformation Fund, funding has been offered to implement a DSCR system in NCL sites from a list of approved suppliers and cover ongoing costs for one year. This funding also includes training costs and support for digital infrastructure, e.g.: Wifi boosters, handheld devices.

The Data Security and Protection Toolkit is an online self-assessment tool that allows health and care organisations to measure their performance against the National Data Guardian’s 10 data security standards.
All organisations that have access to NHS patient data and systems must use this toolkit to provide assurance that they are practicing good data security, and that personal information is handled correctly.

One completed to the correct standards, it also enables access to a variety of digital tools such as NHS Mail, Whzan Remote Monitoring and Digital Social Care Records.

NHS Mail is a secure system that enables safe and quick sharing of confidential data between organisations.
Once the DSPT has been completed to the required standards, the Digital Maturity Team can support with the following:
Setting up a new NHS Mail mailbox for your organisation
Regaining access to an old mailbox
Adding new accounts to an existing mailbox (up to 10 per organisation)
To get NHSmail, one person from each care site needs to make an online application at the NHSmail social care organisation’s registration portal via the below link:
portal.nhs.net/Registration#/careprovider.
You can download a guide for care homes on registering with the NHSmail portal, which takes you through the steps you need to take.
It can take up to 48 hours for the NHSmail team to get back to you with the information you need to get your account set up. Set-up itself usually takes about an hour.

Information Governance (IG) is a framework for handling and sharing information in a safe and secure manner. This enables care providers to correctly manage personal and confidential information of their staff and residents.
IG also allows access to a variety of digital tools to help improve care, and the Digital Maturity Team help facilitate this implementation in North Central London by ensuring providers are compliant with legal and regulatory obligations, including GDPR and signing Data Sharing Agreements.
