Digital Inclusion
Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flags
Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flags (RADFs) help ensure patients with additional needs receive the right support every time they use health or social care services. A RADF is a national marker on a person’s record that highlights the reasonable adjustments they require, making this information visible across all publicly funded services and reducing the need for people to repeatedly explain their needs.
Reasonable adjustments are a legal right under the Equality Act 2010, and RADFs support services to meet this duty more consistently and safely. From December 2025, RADFs became a legal requirement for all NHS and publicly funded health and social care providers, with full compliance required by September 2026, marking a major step towards more inclusive, person centred care.
Here are some resources to support your practice in utilising RADFs effectively across your system.
