NCL UTC COP has a particular focus on education and training resources to support the expanding workforce in this area, and is developing an online community to enable peer-support, information sharing and responses to local learning needs.

Working in Urgent Care: Wellbeing Strategies for Strong Teams
Working in primary care, particularly within urgent treatment centres, comes with unique challenges: high pressure environments, diverse teams, and finding the balance between professional and personal life. This teaching session (facilitated by Dr Lucy Braude, Clinical Psychologist) will be looking at overcoming various challenges to maintaining good wellbeing when working in urgent treatment centre settings.

Asthma and COPD
This education session included details on assessment and treatment of acute exacerbations of asthma and COPD within an urgent care setting, and a review of the new updates with asthma guidelines, led by Dr Melissa Heightman, Consultant integrated respiratory and intersitital lung disease, UCLH and Chair Respiratory Network, North Central London; Dr Kay Roy, Consultant Respiratory Physician, UCLH and Lead for Asthma, Sarcoidosis and smoking cessation.

Neurology - acute headaches presenting to urgent care
This education session focused on acute headaches and management of these within an urgent care setting, with practical help to support colleagues to know when to refer to A&E or medical specialities, i.e. for further investigations, red flags and management of headaches in the UTC.
