This chapter explores how teams can work together within practice settings and across wider organisations and multidisciplinary structures, such as neighbourhood teams.

Learning content will demonstrate examples of teaming concepts that support the delivery of high-quality, safe care. The chapter resources include points for further discussion within your practice team as to how to support the growth of integrated neighbourhood teams.

Learning outcomes:

  • What does a team look like?

  • What does the concept of teaming mean?

  • What are the benefits of effective teaming in Primary Care, and how is this relevant to the NHS as it evolves?

  • What do we need to do as supervisors and educators to support teaming?

Chapter resources:

The following resources are available to share with your practice team or to support you to work through the workshop learning:

  • A narrated slide deck on the chapter is available to watch or download, so you and your team can work through it at your own pace.

  • Workbooks with space to complete exercises and note your reflections on key concepts and reinforce learning; one in PowerPoint format to add your own responses, and one on PDF format which can be printed.
