DIVERSITY MATTERS IN NHS PRIMARY CARE - CAMPAIGN PLEDGE
The Diversity Matters in NHS Primary Care - Campaign Pledge is one of the NCL Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) activities that aims to create a supportive and protective working environment for all healthcare professionals and patients with protected characteristics (age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation) within the NCL Primary Care sector including general practice, dentistry, optometry, care home and community pharmacy.
The Diversity Matters in NHS Primary Care - Campaign Pledge can be signed by individuals and organisations who want to demonstrate a commitment to their employees, colleagues and patients with protected characteristics and support creating an inclusive environment free from any racist and discriminatory behaviours.
Our workforce and patients are not homogenous groups. Everyone has identities which are unique to them. These identities can include our ethnicity, but also our gender, sex, sexuality, disability, class and religion or belief. There are also differences in the way that different groups are treated and we must support an inclusive and safe working environment for all our staff and patients.
