Voices of WRES/EDI: Diversity Matters in NCL NHS Primary Care
Listening, Learning, and Championing Race Equality across NCL
Welcome to WRES/EDI - Diversity Matters, the official podcast of the NCL Training Hub dedicated to advancing workforce race equality, inclusion, and representation across primary care.
At NCL our strength lies in the rich diversity of our healthcare workforce and the communities we serve. However, achieving true equality requires ongoing dialogue, active listening, and continuous action. Through this podcast series, we bring together primary care professionals, leaders, experts, and staff with lived experience to explore key challenges, share best practices, and inspire practical change.
Why Listen?
Whether you are a GP partner, practice manager, nurse, allied health professional, or administrator, race equality is everyone’s responsibility. Each episode offers an engaging mix of practical tools, honest conversations, and actionable steps to help you:
Understand the WRES Indicators: Break down the nine Workforce Race Equality Standard indicators into practical takeaways for your practice or PCN.
Build Psychological Safety: Learn how to create inclusive environments where all team members feel safe to speak up and thrive.
Challenge Discrimination: Gain confidence in addressing microaggressions, bias, and systemic barriers in healthcare settings.
Foster Inclusive Leadership: Hear how local primary care leaders across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington are embedding equity into everyday practice.
Join the Conversation
Creating an anti-racist, fair, and inclusive workplace is a collective journey. We invite you to listen to our latest episodes, share them with your primary care teams, and join us in driving meaningful change across NCL.
Together, we can build a primary care workforce where dignity, respect, and equal opportunity are at the heart of everything we do.
